Wow! This is where we are right now?

MSNBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin spoke to Dodge City, Kansas Mayor Joyce Warshaw, who resigned from her job after receiving threats that she described as “very inappropriate and very threatening.”

This all comes, because in an effort to try and keep Dodge City residents safe, Warshaw issued a mask mandate.

She was threatened and now has resigned, but she says she still believes she made the right call. “I have no regrets about my vote to support a mask mandate and simply because I followed the advice of medical professionals in our community and across the nation. I followed science and everything indicated that if we were going to get numbers down and get control of this pandemic we had to do what we could do and that included a mask for everyone.”

Asked about masks becoming a political issue, she said: “I am a believer that it has become a political issue when it really is a health issue, it’s a science issue and our country has allowed it to become a political issue.”

It really is so sad that the idea of trying to keep people safe has become a political issue.

Meanwhile, countries like New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand, which did take COVID more seriously have basically returned to an almost normal life.

I really thought the United States was better than that.

Also, props to MSNBC for covering a real story that impacts a real person.

Fox News and CNN should take note.
