It appears that Tegna seems to care little when it comes to Journalism.

During a break in the NFL game, WKYC (Cleveland) Anchor Jim Donovan comes on in a spot to ask if viewers are enjoying the game? He then proceeds to pimp a home mortgage company.

I get that TV stations are willing to sell their soul these days to make a buck, but why pimp out one of your Anchors?

They could have easily had Donovan ask if viewers were enjoying the game and then went to an announcer voice-over about the mortgage company. Having Donovan voice it kills his credibility and makes the station look like they are whoring out its Anchors.

Journalism is underfire right now and Tegna and their stations are doing nothing to help the fight.
