Singing Off in The Nooga

Longtime WRCB (Chattanooga) Weatherman Paul Barys announced that he is retiring from the station.

He’s not leaving in two weeks, nor is he leaving at the end of the year. Nope, Brays says he is sticking around to late Summer next year before he steps down.

So, why would the station announce something that isn’t happening for another 9 months?

Because dummy, it’s the November rating book and they needed some gimmick to hook viewers.

Also, if you are thinking about applying for Brays job when it comes up next year, don’t bother.

The station has already announced that morning weather anchor David Karnes will be the station’s new Chief Meteorologist.

“This is a dream come true for me,” said Karnes. “I remember watching Paul when I was in high school and when I got the chance to join the Storm Alert Weather Team I knew I was joining the best. To have the opportunity to serve as Chief Meteorologist is the opportunity of a lifetime.”
