The Rona Hits Indianapolis Station
Word is that a number of people at Nexstar’s WXIN (Indianapolis) has tested positive for the coronavirus and some on staff are not happy.
A number of insiders tell FTVLive that they feel that management has been slow to react and inform the staff as to what is happening?
One insider says, “A Meteorologist, a Photographer, and a sales rep have tested positive and we not been notified.” The insider adds that a number of Anchors were out on Friday as they were all getting tested for the ‘rona.
An internal memo obtained by FTVLive is now telling the newsroom staff that management has decided to go back to having people work remotely.
Here is the memo, obtained by FTVLive:
Out of an abundance of caution, we will immediately begin transitioning back into our work-from-home protocols that we operated under beginning back in March. The goal is to keep as many people out of the building as possible while still conducting our newscasts, as we did back during the initial height of the pandemic. That means reporters and photographers should avoid coming into the building as much as possible as we did in the past. Positions like digital producers will work from home. We will communicate directly with individuals about how their schedule or duties will be affected by a return to these work-from-home protocols.
If you have any questions about this, please let me know.
My question is, why would you have brought people back to the station in the middle of a pandemic?
