Time to look into the old Inbox and see what people are talking about?
Email 1 is about Newsmax and its attempt to dethrone Fox News.
NewsMax is obviously in the middle of a plan to have former President Donald Trump facilitate a friendly take-over.
Look at the facts:
- They never say anything negative about the current President
- They employ only hosts and commentators who express positive views of the president. Even to the extent that many of the commentators' credits include tabloid headlines (i.e., Dick Morse's dalliances with a D.C. hooker who he let listen to his phone conversations with then-president Clinton; Mark Halperin, whose multiple allegations of sexual harassment got him blackballed by MSNBC) and other scandalous.
- The majority owner -- Christopher Ruddy, who owns 60% of NewsMax -- is a friend and neighbor of Mr. Trump who talks of his frequent conversations with the commander in chief.
- NewsMax has great clearances on major market cable systems as well as satellite services
- They telecast in HDTV on most of the outlets that carry it. Their technical capabilities roughly equal Fox's
- The "upstart" internet and broadcast service is headquartered on New York's pricey & prestigious Upper East Side, occupying two floors in a high-rise building. Their office space is occupied, but there is plenty of room for growth.
- They have recently bested TV ratings reported by CNBC and Fox Business Channel. Granted, those audiences are smaller than FNC, CNN, and MSNBC, but they are each making money, which would lead one to believe that NewsMax should also be doing so.
"Fake News," or not, I surmise that NewsMax is poised for a rebranding. Ladies & gentlemen, I give you TrumpTV.
Email 2 is about the former Southern California Anchor that unloaded on his station in a social media post:
IMHO, it’s not smart to piss on your former employer. Nothing good comes from it, except for the fleeting pleasure of doing so.
This guy had 21 years of employment - plenty of time to figure out he was working for unappreciative people.
And $80,000? How does anybody live in SoCal on 80k?
Keep up the good work.
Email 3 is about TV news people that are posting their political opinions on social media:
If I ever tweet or post an opinion on social media from a personal or professional account while employed in TV news, please shoot me. These people are dopes, no matter what their opinions are. They need to buy a dog or a cat and vent to them.
