FTVLive FIRST told you that Meredith’s KPHO/KTVK (Phoenix) was blowing up their anchor teams in a big switch.

FTVLive told you that Weather Anchor turned News Anchor Sean McLaughlin was being knocked back to being a Weather Anchor at the station.

McLaughlin posted about the move and hashtagged it #goodbyetie and also posted a video of his ties, which the caption, “won’t be needing these anymore.”

Why? Is there a station policy that News Anchors must wear ties and Weather Anchors can not?

I see Weather Anchors across the country wearing ties while they present the forecast.

But yet, for some reason, McLaughlin feels he doesn’t need one. Why did he feel that he had to wear a tie when he did the news, but feels no need to do so when doing the weather?
