When Shepard Smith walked out of Fox News and hung his hat at CNBC, it was a given that he would not beat his old network in the ratings.

Fox News is the 800 pound gorilla of cable news and CNBC is a financial channel.

But, I think both Smith and CNBC figured that he would be able to beat Fox Business in the ratings.

Yet on Friday, a huge news day with the President announcing that he had COVID and Shep being the big gun news Anchor at CNBC, you would have expected a CNBC win.

But, it didn’t happen.

According to Nielsen Media Research Smith’s show lost by a few thousand viewers to Lou Dobbs on Fox Business.

Losing is never fun, losing to complete whack job Lou Dobbs has to sting a bit more.
