Nexstar to Get Texas Station

Yesterday, FTVLive told you that Sinclair is coughing up $60 million dollars as settlement as part of their botched deal to take over the Tribune stations.

Along with the $60 million, FTVLive told you that Sinclair was also throwing in WDKY in Lexington, KY. as part of the settlement.

It seems that isn’t the only station changing hands.

Sources in Texas tell FTVLive that Nexstar will also be taking over KGBT in the Rio Grande Valley.

KGBT is currently owned by Chesapeak Media 1 LLC, but if you look at the address of Chesapeak Media, it comes back to the Sinclair headquarters in Maryland.

Word is that the station will be handed over to Nexstar and will be done by the end of next month.

Sources tell FTVLive that KGBT General Manager Linda Guerrero Deicla (pictured) has been told that she will not be retained when Nexstar takes over the station and will be replaced by an old white guy.

Stay tuned…
