Sinclair Will Pay Nexstar $60 million in Settlement

Sinclair Broadcast Group has settled the lawsuit stemming from its failed takeover of Tribune Media.

The merger fell apart when the FCC basically accused Sinclair of playing dirty.

Tribune then sued Sinclair and sold their stations to Nexstar.

So, now Sinclair has settled the lawsuit and has agreed to pay Tribune (now Nexstar) $60 million and will give them WDKY in the Lexington, KY.

Neither party has admitted any liability or wrongdoing in connection with the terminated merger.

“Both parties have settled the lawsuit to avoid the costs, distraction, and uncertainties of continued litigation,” Sinclair said in a regulatory filing.
