The Best Person in TV News for 2019
For the Best person in TV News for 2019, we head to CBS News.
While some of you are thinking it might be Gayle King, Norah O’Donnell or maybe even Jeff Glor, none of those is the correct answer.
Our pick is Weijia Jiang the White House Correspondent at CBS News.
Jiang started off 2019 by having a baby, but it barely slowed her down. She has crisscrossed the country, covered the news and has done it all with a newborn baby at home.
We ran into Jiang at AAJA in Atlanta and while we were having a great conversation, she had to go to pump breast milk for her baby.
Any new mom knows just how hard it is to take care of a baby, think about doing that while also trying to get the leader of the free world to answer your questions.
There was the time that Trump was holding a presser and Jiang, pregnant at the time continued to try and get the President to answer her question.
Trump told Jiang to "sit down" after she repeatedly tried to ask the question and she remained standing until Trump eventually answered her question.
This week she has followed the President to Davos, Switzerland and she still is asking the tough questions:
Jiang asked the questions that many people sitting on their couch would ask. She does not make it all about her like CNN’s Jim Acosta and she does a good job of cutting through the B.S. and try and get real answers.
No, Weijia Jiang is not a household name, but she is a damn good Journalist that knows how to cover a story. The idea that she does it all while also being a new mom, makes her Super Woman.
And, it lands her at the top of FTVLive’s list of the Best people in TV News.
Tune in next year, when we do it all over again.
