Talking about Rachel Maddow’s huge numbers this week, CNN media critic Brian Stelter’s nightly newsletter had this to say:

“The program’s episode ever”?

I think this is missing a word or two.

Let’s guess:

“The program’s highest rated episode ever”

“The program’s ugliest guest episode ever”

“The program’s worst episode ever”

“The program’s episode everyone at CNN wished they could produce”

I don’t know, but I do know that Stelter says, “if you can’t get the little things right, how can we trust you with the big stuff?”
