Doing News on The Cheap

Say you are a fan of ABC and their local stations. So you decide you want to follow WABC out of New York, WLS out of Chicago and a few of the other ABC O&O’s on your social media.

You hope that each station is tailoring the news to their local audience. But, then you find posts like this back to back on your feed. One from the station in NY and the other from the station in Chicago:

Stations love to tout just how important digital and social media are. But in reality, they are still just trying to do digital on the cheap.

Why employ multiple, qualified people when you can have just out of school j-school drone schedule stuff for all the pages with one click?

You guys need to be better.
