5 days ago, FTVLIve FiRST told you about Elijah Baker, who had accepted a new job as a Reporter WHNT in Huntsville, AL.

Baker, started a GoFundMe page to try and raise money to help him with the move. He was looking to raise $3,000 to help continue his TV news career.

When FTVLive did the story, Baker had raised just a few hundred bucks. We through a couple of dollars his way and then posted the story on FTVLive.

Well, that seemed to get the ball rolling and now Baker has reached his goal and passed it.

As we write this, he sits at $3,085 raised, or $85 more than his original goal.

FTVLive urges that Baker pay it forward.

Take that extra $85 and help out another Journalist that is struggling to make ends meet.

It’s sad that we work in a business where many people are paid barely enough to make it. While TV groups report their earnings and show millions in profits, Journalists have to beg for money on the internet, just to go from job to job.

How sad is that?
