It's D-Day for Sinclair and DirecTV
Today is the final day of an extension that Sinclair made with AT&T as the two sides fight over taking more of the viewers’ money.
Sinclair has posted warnings (see picture) across their station’s websites warning AT&T customers that they might be losing the station along with Sinclair’s Tennis Channel (who cares?).
Sinclair is pushing viewers to try other providers which include YouTubeTV.
In a statement, Sinclair said, “AT&T isn’t listening to you. If you are an AT&T customer, it’s time to switch to DISH, your local cable provider, or YouTubeTV.”
It is interesting that Sinclair is now pushing its viewers to a streaming service like YouTubeTV.
This is not something you would have seen years ago, but it is clearly the future and Sinclair sees that.
Eventually, Sinclair and AT&T will reach an agreement, the details of which will never be made public and then customers of AT&T will see their bill go up.
The rich get richer.
