Nick LaFave is the main Anchor at Tegna’s WZZM in Grand Rapids, MI.

He was brought into to replace longtime Anchor Lee Van Ameyde, who was being “reassigned” at the station.

There is an old saying in TV news, you don’t want to replace the legend, you want to replace the person that replaced the legend.

LaFave was replacing the legend and it was very awkward to do so.
