Nexstar Plans Expansion of News
Nexstar CEO Perry Sook held his town hall meeting for the Tribune employees that are now Nexstar employees.
Sook went over the company and gave highlights of why the Tribune people should be excited to join Nexstar. He did tell them that they could keep their Tribune.com email for up to 12 months.
He also said that with the 2020 election coming up, Nexstar planned expansions on their DC bureau and the local state capital bureaus.
He also said that some stations will be expanding news.
He did not say which stations that will be, but you can bet that it will be stations in battleground states.
He also said that the accounting and traffic departments at the Tribune stations will be merged into the Nexstar hub.
In other words, most of those people working in accounting or traffic at the Tribune stations will be the first to feel the axe swing.
A number of local salespeople at the Tribune stations are not impressed with the Nexstar accounting system.
The presentation ended with a montage video with pretty video from their markets and messages from the big 3 network Anchors, Lester Holt, Norah O’Donnell, and David Muir welcoming the Tribune stations into Nexstar Nation.
The video also featured the team from Fox NFL Sunday were Terry, Howie and the gang welcomed the Tribune Fox stations to Nexstar.
What stood out in that welcome, the Fox gang never mentioned KCPQ in Seattle. As FTVLive reported FIRST back in June, it is expected that KCPQ will be sold to Fox.
