Not only does Waters anchor the news, but he also is given time during the newscast to plug his comedy shows.

We watched yesterday’s morning newscast where Waters was given about a minute to promote two of his comedy shows to viewers.

Really? Tegna is OK with this?

Will other Tegna Anchors be able to use news time to promote their side hustle?

Will Tegna news anchors be able to take out time from the news to tell viewers to “run on down to my brother’s car dealership where they are having a sale of the new Camry”?

How is it OK for Waters to promote his shows, but not OK for and news anchor to pitch her handmade jewelry business to viewers?

Viewers are getting ready for work and looking to rush out the door, they turn on WUSA and the “anchor” is taking up time from his “anchor job” to promote his other job.

And no one at Tegna sees a problem with this?
