Please No! Don't Tell Your GM...Please!

Yesterday, FTVLive showed you a video of WDAF (KC) Reporter Ashonti Ford dropping the F-bomb on a number of kids that were acting up in the background during her live hit.

We loved that she put these kids in her place and gave them a talking to.

In our story, we wrote that she was doing a “live shot.”

Ms. Ford emailed FTVLive to say it wasn’t a live shot, but a post for social media.

Here is her email she sent to FTVLive:

First off, you can do a “live shot” on social media, just like you can do a “live shot” on TV. We presume that’s what this was, because if it was recorded, why would you upload the video with the F-bombs? BTW, she threw down more F-bombs than just the one we showed.

Also, I would love to know who the Executive Producer who suggested that she email us from her work account and CC the GM.

The WDAF GM is Tracy Brogden Miller, who worked her way up through the news ranks to make it to General Manager. I love GM’s that are former News Directors, I just always feel they are better. Tracy is very smart and good at her job and I’m sure she would love nothing more than to get an cc’d on an email to FTVLive.

Ms. Ford and her EP seem to think that if they bring the GM into the mix, I am going to be in real trouble.

God, I hope Tracy doesn’t suspend me, or cancel my vacation time?

Oh wait, I don’t work for Tracy or WDAF.

But thanks to Ms. Ford, I finally figured out what the F stands for in WDAF.
