She Was Killed While Doing a Story
Yesterday, we told you the very sad news that WVUE Anchor Nancy Parker was killed in a small plane crash in New Orleans.
Parker was doing a story with stunt pilot Franklin J.P. Augustus, on Friday when the plane crashed into a field near the New Orleans Lakefront Airport.
Augustus was a stunt pilot known for helping introduce young black people to flying. He described himself as the "world's only black civilian air-show acrobatic pilot."
Parker was doing a story on Augustus was was in the plane with him, when it crashed.
Parker’s family announced Saturday that it had started a scholarship fund to honor her through the Community Foundation of East Alabama.
Parker had a husband and 3 children.
