This is Tegna...

FTVLive has told you about how Tegna’s WUSA (DC) had hired a comedian to anchor their morning newscast.

Tegna’s WKYC has also hired a comic in the newsroom.

Over at WUSA, Reese Waters anchors the morning newscast and many in the newsroom are just sitting back shaking their heads.

On a week where there were two mass shootings and over 30 people gunned down, Waters showed up to anchor the newscast wearing a T-shirt that said “It’s On Like Donkey Kong.”

Really? And no one in management at WUSA had a problem with this?

This week, Waters posted his anchor attire on his social media, which entailed a Kool-Aid T-shirt.

This guy is taking about shootings and other hard news stories while wearing a Kool-Aid T-shirt. Again, Tegna management is OK with this?

It is making a mockery of the real Journalists that work at WUSA and in this business.

How would you feel if you were rolled into surgery and instead of the doctor in scrubs, he’s wearing a Kool-Aid T-shirt?

If you want to have a comic do the news, can you get the comic to at least wear something besides a T-shirt to work?

Tegna should know that this kind of thing is a morale killer for the real Journalists that work for the company and take their job very seriously.

I don’t know how many staffers tell Tegna CEO Dave Lougee how much this stuff pisses them off. But, a whole bunch have reached out to FTVLive about it.

Come on Dave! If you want a comic doing the news, that’s on you…..but can you at least get him to ditch the the T-shirts while anchoring?

I know for fact that many of your employees would appreciate it.

If you don’t believe me, just ask them.
