Sinclair Kicks DC Boss Upstairs
Several sources tell FTVLive that WJLA General Manager Dan Mellon will soon be out at the struggling DC station.
Many inside and outside the station blame Mellon for all the problems at WJLA and the low news ratings. But, despite the station’s dismal performance, in typical Sinclair fashion, Mellon is not being fired, he’s being promoted.
Sources say that Mellon is being bumped up that ladder to a corporate job at Sinclair.
FTVLive got a number of emails from WJLA staffers or former staffers that said they are “overjoyed” that Mellon is leaving WJLA.
Mellon told the staff that he is moving up in the company, but that he will be staying on until a replacement is found.
Judging by the correspondence we got, that day can not come soon enough.
The question is, who wants to take a job at Sinclair’s struggling flagship station and try to rebuild under the intense eye of corporate bosses that force you to run nothing more than propaganda ratings killers?
Stay tuned…
