Dayton’s WKEF/WRGT General Manager has left the Sinclair station to take a sales job with Tegna’s KSDK in St. Louis.

Jimmy Grilli handed in his resignation and Sinclair Group Manager Jon Lawhead sent this memo to the staff at WKEF/WRGT informing them that their GM is gone.

Guess they didn’t trust Grilli to write his own memo.

The internal email was obtained by FTVLive and is posted below:

Folks,

It’s with regret that I announce the resignation of your General Manager, Jimmy Grilli. Jimmy has decided to step down in order to take the Director of Sales position at KSDK-TV in St. Louis. I’ve enjoyed getting to know Jimmy during his tenure in Dayton and will miss working with him. He has put in place a plan that I believe will pay dividends for the Dayton stations going forward. Jimmy’s last day will be July 15th. You have a good group of professionals at the stations and I will immediately begin a search for the most qualified individual to lead WKEF/WRGT. In the meantime, I’ll be spending a little more time at the stations over the next few weeks. See you soon.
