There was a day and time when a TV News Anchor dropped an F-Bomb and they were fired as fast as you could say, “Fuck Them.”

But, we now live in a different time and Arizona Republic Opinion Writer EJ Montini thinks that Lake’s rant might help her career.

He writes, “while most of my brothers and sisters in the media would be painfully embarrassed to be in Lake’s position, it wouldn’t surprise me if she and her bosses decided it was a boon for her and their station.

After all, they operate in a community where a sizable number of potential viewers have bought into President Donald Trump’s fantasy claim that damaging, provable, undeniable facts presented about him are not facts, but “fake news.” I know. I hear from these individuals just about every day.

I take that back.

I hear from them every day.

People like that would be happy to get their “news” from someone they believed to be on their side.

And apparently, Lake is.”

He finishes out his column saying, “This isn’t the first right-wing gaff Lake has made, and I’ve heard other members of the mainstream media suggest that Lake will have to wear the F-bomb anti-New Times tape like a scarlet letter.

In a different era, maybe.

These days, it might turn out to be a badge of honor.”

Sadly, he might be right, TV news and Journalism has changed and many would argue not for the better. KSAZ should have dumped Lake for her antics a longtime ago. Showing bias for either the right or left was a cardinal sin for Journalists. Now, in this era of very biased cable news, it has trickled down to local stations and is growing like a cancer.

Kari Lake should be gone for showing her bias and her showing her immaturity on a live mic.

But as Montini says, it’s a different era.
