Orlando Anchor is Hospitalized
WFTV Anchor Martha Sugalski returned from vacation, but then ended up in the hospital.
Her co-Anchor Jorge Estevez tweeted the news Monday afternoon that Sugalski “came back from a family vacation“ and “landed in the hospital.”
Later, he tweeted an update for viewers, “Overnight observation for @MarthaSugalski. Dehydration. Exhaustion. Migraine. She is under doctor’s orders for rest, fluids and antibiotics.”
Sugalski told the Orlando Sentinel that doctors were giving her antibiotics and looking for the source of an infection.
“They did a renal scan of my kidneys at 2:30 in the morning,” she wrote. "I had a high fever yesterday and felt like I was on fire. It began several days ago, but on Saturday, I woke up to a swollen and red face, and I could barely open my eyes. It got better, but then I began to have major shakes at night, covered in sweat yet so freezing cold that I thought my teeth were going to crack from shaking so much. Yesterday it just became obvious I needed to go to the hospital, and I was admitted, and they said you are staying until we figure it out.”
We wish Martha a speedy recovery.
