Meanwhile in the A-T-L

FTVLive FIRST told you that WSB News Director Misti Turnbull is being bumped up the corporate ladder at Cox and would be replaced by Suzanne Nadell.

Subject: WSB-TV News Director

Hello team - I am excited to share some great news for the WSB-TV Newsroom – the return of Suzanne Nadell to WSB-TV as News Director. Suzanne is replacing Misti Turnbull, who is joining the content team at CMG corporate.

Suzanne is a proven leader and has worked at four Cox stations, two of them as News Director. Many of you worked with Suzanne when she was morning Executive Producer and later dayside Executive Producer for Channel 2 Action News.

At KOKI in Tulsa she built an amazing leadership team that turned the station around. Under her leadership KOKI moved from #3 (and in some news time periods #4) to #1 in overall demos in just two years. From Tulsa, Suzanne was promoted to News Director at WPXI in Pittsburgh in 2016. Her strong track record continued there with the station achieving ratings success in early evening and late news not seen at WPXI in years. Suzanne has worked at four Cox stations and is a graduate of the NAB leadership program.

During Misti’s 20 years at WSB-TV, she worked her way from part-time to full time producer, then served in several news management roles before becoming the station’s News Director. Under her leadership, Channel 2 Action News set market share and ratings records and had the #1 newscast among the top ten markets in all time periods for many months.

We are also excited to welcome Misti to the corporate content team, reporting to Mike Dreaden, VP, News and Marketing and former WSB News Director. In her new position, Misti will help our stations execute research, drive ratings and innovate our presentation to appeal to diverse target audiences.

Please join me in congratulating both Suzanne and Misti and offer them your support as they transition to their new roles on July 8th.

Thanks,
Paul
