OK...We're Done Caring Now

Yesterday was the annual “Nexstar Founder’s Day of Caring.”

It’s a day when the news is not covered, as the employees at the Nexstar stations are urged to go out and volunteer their time in the community.

Then the stations are told to package up their good deeds in a story for the newscast and make sure that a copy is sent to Nexstar CEO Perry Sook.

For many employees, this is the only day of the year that they volunteer.

In Fresno, the staff at KSEE built and delivered beds:

In Salt Lake City, the team at KTVX gave blood:

Down in Birmingham at Nexstar’s WIAT, they helped landscape an elementary school. Look how dirty they got and the shoes will need to be cleaned. Maybe not.

In Buffalo, WIVB helped fill kids backpacks:

As you can see, Nexstar Founders Day is a day of helping out, putting on full makeup and taking lots and lots of selfies.
