Gone in Cleveland
The staff at WOIO in Cleveland got a very brief internal memo from News Director Ian Rubin.
It seems the station has cut ties with Anchor/Reporter Lydia Esparra and she will not be sticking around for cake.
This is the memo that went out to the staff yesterday afternoon and obtained by FTVLive:
From: Rubin, Ian
Sent: Monday, June 10, 2019 4:30 PM
To: All WOIO-WUAB News
Cc: Weske, Rob; Boenau, Rob; Schrader, Erik; Morley, Renee; Rodriguez, Linda; Aguinaga, Izzy; Kroeger, Bob; McManus, Lisa
Subject: Departure for member of WOIO-WUAB News Team
Effective immediately, Lydia Esparra is no longer with WOIO-WUAB.
We wish her the best in all her endeavors.
Ian Rubin
News Director
No word on what went down, but when someone leaves “immediately” and is followed by a very brief memo, you can bet it did not happen on the best of terms.
Esparra was on the newscast on Sunday and gone on Monday.
Is this a great business or what?
