We have done countless stories about how viewers get mad at Meteorologists for breaking into their favorite show to deliver severe weather information.

This is not that story, it’s much worse.

As nasty weather rolled into the Indianapolis viewing area, WTHR Meteorologist Sean Ash broke into the “Indy 500 Awards Banquet” and started informing viewers of the storms.

After awhile, sources tell FTVLive that management told Ash that they needed to go back to programming and that he continue his coverage on Facebook live.

It seems that the “Indy 500 Awards Banquet” was more important to station management, then the weather. Most likely, because the station had a lot of money tied up in the program and Ash and his weather reports were eating into that.

Sources at the station tell FTVLive there was some heated debate and Ash felt he should be on the air, informing viewers and trying to keep them safe.
