In a loooong Facebook post, WTXF Anchor Lucy Noland announced that she was going to be leaving the Fox O&O at the end of the month.

Noland joined Fox Philly in 2014, coming from KNBC in LA.

The station confirmed that Noland is leaving and they did not say who would be replacing her.

As you may know, Sharon Reed is signing off from WGCL in Atlanta this week and used to work in Philly. Could Reed be headed back to the city of brotherly love?

We have no clue, but it would be an interesting hire for the struggling Fox O&O.

Life is one spectacular journey filled with twists and turns and nary a GPS to be found. But that next bend always beckons with the hope and promise of new challenges to conquer, new problems to solve, new mysteries to unravel and people to help.

As my time in Los Angeles was coming to a close, I prayed for God’s guidance and He, in no uncertain terms, pointed the way east, east across the Rockies, the mighty Mississippi and on over to the City of Brotherly Love.

For this kid, born in Saigon, Vietnam, who watched with unquantifiable pride her mother take her oath of citizenship to become an American citizen, being able to call the birthplace of our nation home has been a dream come true.

As blown away as I was walking the streets of Old City and peeling back the layers of our nation’s history, little did I know I was about to fall madly in love.

Isn’t that when it happens? When you least expect it?

I’m head over heels for you, Philly. I love your grit, your heart, your passion, your endless compassion. I love that you forgave me when I pronounced Bala Cynwyd, Bala Sinwood. I loved your gentle correction when I said spaghetti sauce and you said, “You mean gravy?” or when I asked for a glass of wah-tur and you shook your head and, with a sly smirk, said, “It’s pronounced wooder.”

And then there’s jawn. And this jawn rocks-- I’m so blessed to be part of the beat of this city.

None of this would have happened without FOX 29 extending me the honor and opportunity to call this great city home. The folks I work with day-in and day-out are some of the best in the business and they aren’t just my colleagues, they’re my friends.

My five years here are a highpoint in my career. Man, these have been some incredible years: an Eagles’ Super Bowl win, a papal visit, the Democratic National Convention coming to town. As amazing as it was to cover each of those things, it’s my time with you that I will always cherish the most.

Which brings me to the Bengal family, the Quinter family, the Senkow family, the Huntley family and the Stendardo family, I will always be indebted to you for inviting me into your world when it was at its most vulnerable. I think of you all often. May God always be with you.

These years here have shown me how powerful each and every one of us is and what a force we are together. We spurred lawmakers to finally do the right thing and pass the most comprehensive animal protection legislation in the history of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Libre’s Law is a big first step with many more to follow. Together, we found a new home, furnished it and established a fully vetted cat colony for a Korean War Era Marine Veteran getting kicked out of his senior living complex for the “crime” of taking care of community cats. Together, we are right now establishing our area’s first ever homeless housing project that’s pet friendly. It’s not just a bandaid, it’s all about getting people back on their feet (and their pets back on their paws). The list goes on and on...

And I’ll soon be moving on. My last “good night” on FOX 29 will be on May 30th. I can’t thank you enough for all that you have given me and my family. From ordering MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance) pies to help us feed those battling life-threatening illnesses, to helping us save homeless pets at ACCT Philly and Morris Animal Refuge and combating abuse through the Pennsylvania SPCA, you have always, always stepped up. No surprise. You’re Philadelphia.

And, if I am meant to leave this great city, know that you will always be a part of who I am. The winds of change are blowing and that next bend in the road beckons, so I’m off to the next adventure. Life is short but our impact doesn’t have to be. We can all make a positive difference on this little, fragile planet of ours. That, my friends, is quite a mission. And, yes, I have chosen to accept it.
