WPSD (Paducah, KY) is pushing longtime Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Rukavina to the curb with time remaining in the May book.

Rukavina took to social media to say that after 15 years, the station has decided not to renew her contract.

Show posted the statement below to her Facebook page. After the posting her entire Facebook page was deleted.

This is why you never give the station access to your social media.

Here is her now deleted post:

"15 years. 15 years ago the Paxtons gave me the opportunity that led me to a career I’m so proud to have spent serving all of you. Today I was told that my contract would not be renewed for business reasons, nothing personal. As I was being informed, a flood of emotions followed. It takes grit, long crazy hours, mental toughness, and passion to work in that type of job and environment and I can honestly say I proudly gave 100% to all of it. I’ve learned a great deal about work ethic, self-reassurance, and working to make a difference. That was the Fred Paxton way and I took it to heart.

I’m sad to say I was denied the opportunity to say goodbye to viewers on the air so you will not being seeing me on air from now on.

I firmly believe that this will present me with an opportunity somewhere of something great ahead that I possibly hesitated to follow in the past. I’ve got so much more to give. I am beyond blessed to have worked with some tremendous people and family who has faith in me always.

I realize that in this business you can’t please everyone and likability is subjective. Despite all of that, the passion and service I offered was unconditional always and will continue in my path forward. Thank you to those who welcomed me into your homes every night and shared your passion for weather in return. I’ve cherished it all."

Rukavina is married to WPSD Sports Director Jeff Bidwell.
