A week ago a 737 skidded off the runway while making a landing in Jacksonville and skidded into the St. John’s River.

The Jacksonville TV stations went wall to wall with their coverage and some might have been a bit too dramatic.

But, sources tell FTVLive that management at Graham’s WJXT are not pleased with how their staff reacted when the breaking news hit.

Word is that a number of staffers ignored calls from the station to come in and cover the story. Management held a staff meeting this week and blasted the news staff for not being dedicated enough to come in and cover the story.

The station wanted the main players to come in over the weekend and follow the unfolding story and many seemed not to care.

It’s bad enough when your main players don’t want to put in the extra hours, it’s even worse when it happens during a book.
