Playing in Traffic
Hearst owned WESH (Orlando) announced that they have hired a former intern as the station’s new Traffic Reporter.
Jaclyn DeAugustino, who was born in area and graduated from the University of Florida, interned at the NBC affiliate during college. Starting Monday, she will offer traffic updates weekday mornings on WESH and sister station WKCF.
“Jaclyn has the ability and experience to deliver updated traffic reports fast and accurately,” Kirsten Wolff, WESH news director, said in a release. “Her presence and personality will shine on-air and in our newsroom.”
DeAugustino earned a degree in telecommunications-news at Florida. She started as traffic reporter for WLOS-TV in Asheville, N.C., then took a similar position at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati.
She was also an NFL cheerleader for the Cincinnati Bengals for two years, which almost now seems like a prerequisite for Traffic Reporters in TV news.
“It is an incredible opportunity to work at WESH 2,” DeAugustino said, noting her internship. “It is very exciting to work side by side with the people I watched every day.”
