Anchors Hit Mark with Podcasts

More and more, TV news Anchors are turning to podcasting as another way to reach viewers.

Research shows that podcasting is one of the fastest growing media platforms and TV people are taking notice.

More and more people are listening to podcasts during their commute to work, or while working out.

WJAX (Jacksonville) Anchor Letisha Bereola has dipped her toe in the podcasting waters and seems to be enjoying it.

KVOA (Tucson) Anchor Nick VinZant has found success with both critics and listeners for his podcast which he titles “Profoundly Pointless.”

His show has been listen to more than 500,000 times since the beginning of the year and was just named one of the best podcasts of the week by podcast industry website Podcast.co.

"When I started Profoundly Pointless it was really just an excuse to tell interesting stories and talk to my friends. I would have been ecstatic if five people listened," said Nick VinZant.

That is exactly how and why FTVLive started, so you never know where this podcasting thing might go?

What is clear is that both Bereola and VinZant have their eye on the future and that shows some smarts by both of them.

If you work in TV news and have a podcast that you want to share, send FTVLive a link, along with a $20 listening fee and we’ll check it out.

OK, we’re kidding about the $20 bucks.

Sort of.
