Getting Out of the Business
Last week, FTVLive told you that KABC Reporter Chelsea Edwards was leaving the station, but she was not yet saying where she was headed.
Now, she confirms that she is leaving the TV news business and leaving the name “Chelsea Edwards” behind.
In a post she writes:
“After more than 13 years in TV news, I am officially dropping the mic. I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I have joined The Alexander Group, an international executive search firm with an impeccable reputation and a team that already feels like family.
To all of you who have guided and encouraged me in my broadcast news career, thank you (you know who you are). You’ve helped me achieve everything that I aspired to. There is so much about the work that I will miss...and a lot that I won’t (goodbye, 12:50am alarms)!
The news industry is changing so rapidly and the future of it is unclear.
Regarding the career that I have loved for all of these years, I say this: being a journalist is an important responsibility and it is more vital than ever to support reporters with experience and integrity.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to have a new career path with a firm I trust and respect.
In addition to the news career, my name is also retiring! ‘Chelsea Edwards’ has served me very well...but it’s time to fully become ‘Chelsea Hunt’ (which has actually been my legal name for almost 7 years now).
Here’s to an exciting new beginning!”
