As I look at these pictures from Gray’s WFIE (Evansville, Indiana) I wonder how long it is before there is no longer any technical people punching newscasts, running audio or anything else.

“One man bands” have become common out in the field. It now appears it is happening more often inside the studio as well.

This business is becoming less about reporting the news and more about putting on a cheap newscast.

How can expect talent to do their best work, when they have to worry more about framing themselves in the shot, putting the right front in, checking their sound level and then punching their own live hit.

It like the old saying, “Jack of all trades, master of none.”

I rather get my news from someone that is focused fully on the story and not all this other stuff that used to be done by other people.

Just saying….
