Some People Are Saying...

Meredith’s WGCL in Atlanta was doing a good job lately at staying off of FTVLive with their antics.

But, today they are back and before I get to the story let me just put this out there. As a life long Buffalo Bills fan, I hate the New England Patriots and their star quarterback Tom Brady. That being said, I do think that Brady is one of the best QB’s to ever play the game and I respect all that he has done in his career. Off the field, for the most part, Brady has carried himself very well for a guy that lives his life under the spotlight.

Now onto the story.

There was video of Brady meeting former Baltimore Ravens star Ed Reed in the tunnel before the game on Sunday.

WGCL Anchor Shon Gables posted this to Twitter:

So, with cameras on him, did Tom Brady really say the N-word? This is a guy that lives his life on camera, is he really that stupid?

Now, here is the video with the audio, which I’m not sure why Gables did not include:

I put on headphones and listened to the audio, I never heard the N-word. My neighbor who is hearing impaired watched the video and she never saw his lips say the N-word.

Yet, for some reason Gables and WGCL wanted to make this a story.

Anytime you start out a story by saying “Some are saying….” it rings pretty hollow.

After Gables posted the tweet, here is what “some people are saying” about her trying to put Tom Brady on blast.

But, let’s forget about what those people are saying and see what Ed Reed, the guy Brady was talking to has to say:

I get that it is ratings and like I said, I’m no Tom Brady fan at all, but for the CBS affiliate in a market the size of Atlanta to drag him through the mud is nothing more than race baiting for viewers.

I really hope that Gables and WGCL apologize for this.

I don’t like the Pats or Brady, but this was a low blow if I ever saw one.
