Now the Charges are Upped to Felony Status

10 days ago, FTVLive FIRST told you that WEVV (Evansville) Reporter Veronica DeKett charged with two counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Well, now those charges have been upped to a felony because she's previously been convicted of the same crime.

Records show that DeKett was convicted of a DUI in New Jersey in 2014.

And yesterday, a probation officer asked the court to revoke DeKett's probation.

She tested positive for alcohol, according to a court document. She admitted to drinking several days prior, thus violating the conditions of her bond.

The petition to revoke her probation will be handled at a later hearing. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 4.

Station Manager Eric Stremming also declined to comment about the new charges.

Sources tell FTVLive that after her arrest, DeKett has been back working at the station.
