Former Fox News Staffers Want Out of Their NDA's
Yesterday, FTVLive told you that management at NBC announced that former female staffers at NBC that signed an NDA, can contact NBC layers and will be let out of their NDA’s.
Now, the idea that a media company has anyone sign an NDA is a debate for another time.
Now female staffers that worked at Fox News would like the network to NBC and let them out of their NDA at Fox News.
At least six former Fox News employees are calling on their old network to release them from nondisclosure agreements in order to allow them to speak out about potential sexual misconduct during their time at the company according to a story in Vanity Fair.
Former Fox News Anchor Gretchen Carlson says, "All women at Fox News and beyond forced to sign NDAs should be released from them immediately, giving them back the voices they deserve. None of us asked to get into a workplace dispute. We simply had the courage to stand up and say something—but in the end it's our voices no one can hear. Because of our NDAs, we can never say what is factually correct or incorrect about what happened to us at Fox," Carlson tells VF.
Julie Roginsky, a former Fox News contributor who settled a sexual harassment lawsuit against the network in December 2017, called NBC’s decision to release staffers from their NDAs “a huge step in the right direction.”
At this point, Fox News has not responded to the request.
