Yesterday, FTVLive told you that while Tegna’s WUSA has hired longtime DC Anchor Tony Perkins as part of a sweeps stunt, the station is giving him little air time.

FTVLive wrote, “the newscast basically focuses on the comic (Reese) Waters and both Perkins and (Annie) Yu are pushed to the background. Not sure why the station wants to bring in a heavy hitter like Perkins and then not show him on air?”

Well, it now seems that WUSA has found something for Tony Perkins and Annie Yu to do? Yesterday, after the newscast, Perkins and Yu were spotted behind the register and a local McDonald’s taking orders.

It seems the station has some ongoing promotion with the fast-food chain that entails WUSA send out their Anchors to meet viewers while chomping on Big Macs.

I don’t know about you, but the McDonald’s employee behind Annie Yu does not seem that all impressed.
