I have covered more than my share of wildfires in my years in TV news.

I covered and was almost burned to death in the Oakland Hills fire (thank God for Nomex). I

have run from the flames of Florida wildfires while covering them many times.

But times have changed.

KTTV’s Bob DeCastro covered the latest California wildfires for The Firm’s station in LA.

Later, the station posted a follow up to his coverage. I’m just going to say, times have changed.
