I love New York City, but when you go you have to worry about scams, and I’m not talking about cable stations that pass themselves off as “news” stations.

One of the scams involves idiots that sell fake tickets to tourists looking to take a ferry to the Statue of Liberty.

A news crew from WABC was in Battery Park doing a story on the scammers when one of them assaulted the news crew.

Both the Reporter and Photographer assaulted by a guy that they were questioning for a story. The afternoon attack left the Photog on the ground and the Reporter was slapped by the ticket hawker.

Sources said the suspect became belligerent with the pair and charges against the man are now pending.
