Reporter Shows Up For Press Briefing and is Arrested
KLKN (Lincoln) Reporter Zach Worthington showed up at the Lincoln Police Department to cover a press briefing, it was there that cops clamped the cuffs on him and busted him for sexual assault.
Police say that the investigation into the assault has been going on for several months.
Police spokeswoman Officer Angela Sands said the alleged sexual assault took place over a year ago on or around Oct. 1, 2018, in Lincoln.
Lancaster County Department of Corrections confirmed Worthington was booked on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.
He hasn’t yet been charged but is expected to appear in court today where he will be.
KLKN did report on their employee’s arrest and said that according to a police report, Worthington knew the victim and made admissions about the sexual assault in text messages and phone conversations.
I’m thinking there will soon be a job opening in Lincoln.
