Lights Out in Oakland

During the 4PM newscast on KTVU the station lost power.

Just as the weather segment started, sources say that the entire building including all studios went dark.

“It was about 2 minutes of what the F and total pandemonium before the generator finally kicked in,” said one station insider to FTVLive.

Weather Anchor Kyla Grogan, a freelancer filling in for Chief Bill Martin kept going, narrating without missing a beat while standing at the green screen in the dark as managers and engineers all ran into the studio fumbling in the dark.

“There was mad applause when we finally got back up and running and went to commercial,” said the insider.

The station’s investigative team has been doing stories on PG&E who they say are being investigated for faulty equipment that started the deadly fires in this area last year.

Coincidence?
