BREAKING! Hearst Names New ND
Hearst has picked their next news director at WPBF-TV in West Palm. The announcement was made a short time ago. Here’s the email from the GM:
Good afternoon. I am pleased to let you all know that we have made a final decision on our next News Director for WPBF. Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Stephanie Linton back into the WPBF 25 family. Stephanie’s journey in the news business has lead her full circle as she started her career in television 13 years ago here at WPBF 25. After leaving us in 2006, Stephanie moved south to be an executive producer at WFOR-TV in Miami. She spent four years there and then joined WSOC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina as the assistant news director. In 2015, she then moved cross country to be the assistant news director at KGO-TV, the ABC-owned station in San Francisco where she has spent the last four years. I am thrilled to have Stephanie join our WPBF news staff and I know that she will be a terrific fit. A lot has changed for Stephanie in the last decade. She’s now married and has two young children however what hasn’t changed is her commitment to news and to helping make a strong news operations even stronger.
I also wanted to say a special thank you to Tonya and our news staff for all of their hard work and contributions during this transition. I am grateful for their drive, focus and determination to stay the course and I’m inspired by the commitment they make every day to serve our community.
Once again, please make sure to welcome Stephanie if you see her in the halls. Stephanie’s start date will be March 4th.
All my best,
Caroline
