Charges Dropped

Back in December, FTVLive told you that police had arrested WHBQ Reporter Scott Madaus and charged him with domestic assault.

Now the charges have been dropped.

Officials in the Shelby County District Attorney General's office confirmed that the case was dismissed in an agreement by all parties.

Madaus was arrested on Dec. 15 at his home. He was released on bond on Dec. 16.

According to a police report, Madaus and the victim were at home drinking wine and began to argue. As the argument escalated, the woman attempted to leave.

When police arrived, they reported that they found the house had been vandalized and the woman had a scratch on her neck.

Madaus, officers said, became irate after they entered the house and ordered them out. Officers later found two Glock handguns, but no gun charges were filed.
