The Firm Goes More Local in Houston

Fox’s KRIV is adding more local content to their weekdays.

Starting Monday, News Anchor Sally MacDonald and Lina DeFlorias will be around an extra hour. The station’s "Wake Up! with Sally Mac and Lina," will now air from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m.

After that it’s "Houston's Morning Show."

The new three-hour will features some familiar faces to Houston viewers.. Jose Grinan and Melissa Wilson will anchor from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., with Melissa Wilson and Sally MacDonald taking over the desk from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

KRIV says its focus will shift to more local coverage. "'Houston's Morning Show' is focused on everything local—the stories and issues in the city and state that impact our Fox26 viewers," Vice President and News Director Susan Schiller said.

Schiller says expect live reports on the developments of major stories both ongoing and newly developing, and increased reporting on consumer and technology issues. She adds that viewers will also see more human interest stories, and noteworthy celebrities and community guests.

"Fox26 is committed to both keeping viewers informed and offering solutions which can improve their lives," Schiller added.
