WHEC fired Weather Anchor Jeremy Kappell for saying “Martin Luther coon King” during his weather report on the station.

Kappell says he did not say that and has been making the rounds trying to say he was unjustly fired.

His sister set up a GoFundMe page for Kappell and so far it was raised more than $5,000 bucks.

Kappell offered up a note on the GoFundMe page as well, saying:

“I wanted to leave a note on my sister's behalf, Jessica Batman, thanking her for doing so much for me and my family in our time of need including setting up this gofundme account. As living and legal fees mount, this will become a HUGE help as we move down the path towards career redemption and hopefully social change. Thank you so much for your support. It means more than you know! God Bless.”

Not sure what he means about “social change”?

Does he mean living in a world where you can say “Martin Luther coon King” without reprimand?

I’m lost on that one.
