Sleeping In and Dumping News In Lansing
WILX (Lansing) Anchor Mallory Anderson signed off from the station’s morning show this week, but she’s not going far.
The station announced that Anderson can chuck the alarm clock, as she will now be the 5:30PM newscast, Monday through Friday.
The station also quietly announced that they are dropping the 4PM newscast and replacing it with "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and "Jeopardy!"
“We’re always looking at new and innovative ways to keep our audience engaged and growing,” said Barb Roethler, WILX News Director. “We’re excited to rethink the typical evening newscast."
“This change illustrates our commitment to our brand values as the Breaking News and Weather Authority. We’re looking forward to bringing viewers this new lineup,” said WILX General Manager Debbie Petersmark.
I’m not sure that dropping the 4PM newscast is really showing “commitment” but ok.
The Gray station is putting the changes in place Oct. 1st.
