"Clusterfuck at Fox 5"
Yesterday was a huge new day for stations.
President Trump's longtime personal lawyer plead guilty and his campaign manager Paul Manafort was found guilty.
A huge day of news and the Fox O&O in New York missed much of it.
Yesterday, FTVLive showed you an internal memo that the union sent to WNYW management about the ongoing problems in the newsroom in regards to the construction taking place there.
The construction has been going on for months and many inside the newsroom claim it is making them sick. Debris is falling from the ceiling and sources say management "seems not to care in the least."
One popular Anchor quit because of what was happening in the newsroom .
Sources tell FTVLive that, "the reporter area has now been roped off in addition to where the producers sit," said one source.
Employees have been told not to contact FTVLive about the problems in the newsroom, "We were also warned not to contact you or face termination," said one newsroom staffer to FTVLive. "Everyone is on high alert and no one is taking pics of the damage out of fear they'll hack us next," the employee added.
Accusations are that WNYW management hacked into an employee's computer looking for emails to FTVLive.
Which brings us to yesterday. A huge news day and Fox 5 NY did not have a newscast on the air!
At 5PM, while all the other stations were live at the courthouse covering Micheal Cohen, Fox 5 was running a canned real estate show (screenshot left). The 5 and 6PM newscast were basically scrapped and filled with this crap.
When it was time for the late news to roll around, Fox 5 newscast was still not on.
They had to use Fox News Anchor Shepard Smith going live from the Fox News studios and then broadcast on Fox 5.
Smith said that the station was suffering computer problems. Station sources say it was tied to the ongoing construction. "It's a total clusterfuck at Fox 5," said one newsroom employee to FTVLive.
Twitter chimed in as well:
Some saw it as a conspiracy at Fox, but those inside say it had everything to do with construction.
The bottom line is it was a huge day for news and WNYW all but missed it and left viewers wondering what the hell was going on?
Then again, we have been asking that same question for months.
