Two New Hires in Rockford

WREX has made two new hires for the Anchor desk and one is coming from fresh out of school. 

The station announced that they have hired 

Two anchors are joining the 13 WREX news team.Lindsey Fafoglia, a recent graduate of the University of Missouri journalism program, will co-host the weekday morning show with Nicole Stein starting Monday. She worked as a reporter and anchor for KOMU in Columbia as a student. She replaces Elliot Grandia, who left the station in May for a public relations job.

James Stratton will begin Aug. 6 as evening co-anchor with Kristin Crowley. He now anchors weekend newscasts for KWQC in the Quad Cities and is a reporter. Crowley previously co-anchored with Sean Muserallo, who left the station in November to take a media specialist position with Mercyhealth.

“I am excited to bring my knowledge of open records requests, investigative reporting and leadership to the anchor desk and the people of Rockford,” Stratton said in a news release.

“James brings a wealth of knowledge and talent to the 13 WREX newsroom,” said Josh Morgan, news director. Morgan said Fafoglia “brings a great passion for journalism to our morning show.”
